Has any one the new pilots or wannabe pilots bought the Sporty's Video
series called "Recreational Pilots Training Course", or actually any of the
video series?

I sent off for a Sporty's catalog recently and when it came, it had vol 1 of
the series on DVD along with a C-182 cockpit poster.

My son is all excited because I told him that we were putting the poster in
his bedroom. I watched the DVD with him and we both took the quiz after each
section. He did really good for a 9 year old. He only missed 3 or 4
questions out of about 20 or more. The ones that he did miss were fairly
hard for an adult, much less a 9 year old!

Just wondering if the rest of the series is worth buying... It's $99, minus
my 5% off for AOPA.

I'm not a pilot yet, but when the money is available, I hope to be. I figure
this series would be good for a heads up on what to expect.

Here is a link that describes the series.

Thanks...

The Power

The Sporty videos take more time to go in depth as to why things do what
they do. Unlike other video series that just give you information for the
exam. There are also more video footage of the subjects unlike other series
that strictly teach. Both are good, it just depends on much you want to be
entertained.
IMHO the main premise of the other videos out there is to get you to
pass the written test ASAP so that you can focus on passing your practical
test.
